Steve has always been interested in sport and fitness, during his time in the Royal Naval Reserve; he was a leading member of HMS Forwards Field Gun Crew between 2000-01. His fitness industry career started off in 2002 working as a fitness instructor in a number of gyms in Devon and Cornwall. In April 2004 Steve completed his Personal Training qualifications and proceeded to set up his own company Sculpting Fitness. In September 2005 Steve completed his Nutrition qualifications adding nutrition courses to the skills he offers his customers.

In October 2004 Steve started his Foundation Degree in Sports Therapy, which gives Steve the skills to assess treat and rehabilitate sporting injuries. This led Steve to complete work placements with Plymouth Argyle FC, Plymouth Albion RFC and Hereford United FC during their play off winning season of 2005/06. The work placements also led Steve to a work placement at Marquette University, Milwaukee, where Steve studied on the Athletic Training programme and worked in the treatment room every day.

In July 2005 Steve took up the role of Sports Therapist and fitness coach to Tavistock Rugby Clubs U14's, working along side the Club G.P, and has followed on working with the team today. His FdSc allows him to provide injury assessments, treatments and rehabilitation of players. His work with the U15's as they are now, has led him to take on the role with the Men's 1st and 2nd XV's at Tavistock RFC. In January 2007 Steve took up the role of Sports Therapist to Callington Town FC where he provided injury cover to the 3 men's teams and also covers the role of Sports Therapist for Plymouth Argyle Girls Centre of Excellence matches.

In September 2006 Steve set up his own Sport Injury Clinic at Callington Community College in the East Cornwall Football Development Pavilion Treatment Room. In November 2006 Steve produced 6 internet videos for AOL.co.uk. Steve now offers a home visiting service for all injury clients.

In the summer of 2007 Steve took up the role of club Sports Therapist for Plymouth's Rugby league teams, helping the Plymouth Titans win the South West Conference and with the regional grand final, along with helping them with their National Cup run. This has led on to Steve taking on the role of Sports Therapist and conditioning coach for Plymouth Argyle ladies, and assisting Launceston FC Sports Therapist Sammy Jo Rickard with their injuries.

Steve is also currently trying to finish his book on fitness for sport with two more titles being looked into.  Steve is busy working on setting up a medical centre at Tavistock RFC to use as a clinic base and has launched his own Kickboxing Academy called the SWKA (South West Kickboxing Academy).

Steve is looking to branch Sculpting Fitness into fitness consultancy work  for Gyms, Health Clubs and Personal Trainers along with launching his own gym clothing brand and fitness videos.
