South West Kickboxing Academy

The South West Kickboxing Academy launches on 4th April 2008. It will be delievering kickboxing to people in the South West. Run by Steve Lilley 2nd Dan Black belt pictured below. The Academy is part of the ISKA (International Sport of Kickboxing Association), Steve Recently took part in their England Squad Qualifiers for the World Championships in August 2008.

 The Academy aims to promote the following values to it's students;

Their are regular gradings, and the Academy is open to all students both Male and female over the age of 7 years with any or no martial arts experience.

Kickboxing was formed in the 1970's in the USA, where students didn't enjoy the the rules of convensional martial arts which have no room for creativie spirit like Karate and Judo. So they started to experiment and this is where kickboxing has come from. Their are many forms of Kickboxing, including Semi-contact, light-continuious and full contact. The South West Kickboxing Academy will be teaching both Semi and Light contiunious styles.
